#StayTrueToTheAct

FSE is part of a broad coalition of organisations in Europe’s creative and cultural sectors. Together they launch a campaign on the AI Act. Keywords: Transparency. Consent. Remuneration. They call on EU policymakers to #StayTrueToTheAct.

Passed in early 2024, the AI Act was recognised by the EU legislator as a key means to support the development of AI in Europe while protecting the EU’s creative sectors that drive its cultural and economic landscape. However, the low implementation standard risks undermining the AI Act’s objectives.

More than ever we must uphold human creativity and uphold the principles of transparency, consent, and protection of creators.

” AI is filled with opportunities for creators and can enrich human artistry.

The EU should foster an environment where the creative market and AI can both thrive.

Passed in early 2024, the AI Act has provided authors, performers and other rightsholders with tools that are essential to exercise and enforce their rights.

This was recognised by the EU legislator as a key means to support the development of AI in Europe and protect the EU’s creative sectors that drive its cultural and economic landscape.

Our coalition is concerned that the implementation standard is being brought to a level so low that it would undermine the objectives of the AI Act, contravene EU law and ignore the intention of the EU legislator.

We are now calling on EU policymakers to uphold the principles of transparency, consent, and protection of creators.
